Another instalment of Fortified, here to help you keep track of all things Fortress that have gone on in the last week.
This past week, Grant and Henry Brinner both turned 21! Happy Birthday to them! (Thats not just a coincidence, of course- they’re twins). While we have no doubt that the boys haven’t had a shortage of drinks in the past, this means that fans can expect their shows this festival season to be even crazier than before. This past weekend they played at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees Festival, the first of many festival appearances for the band this summer. Next up, they’re off to BottleRock in Napa Valley, California at the end of the month!
The Orwells are now 21+. Time flies when you’re sneaking tall boys in vans out front the venue. Dig it!

Ian is back on the road this month, with upcoming dates taking him to Seattle, Atlanta, and Greenville amongst plenty of others. Check out the full list on his website here – if you can’t catch up him this month, he heads back out in June as well! Be sure to also follow all of his updates on his Facebook page, where he’s constantly looking to thank helpful fans with special prizes.
Wes Period has been all over the place recently, as his latest single ‘Young Girl’ continues to make waves. On top of a recent show alongside Elliphant at The Troubadour in Los Angeles, Wes has been mixing, producing, and just generally being amazing. While we wait for more from him, Tommy, and Ye Ali, check out some awesome pictures of that Troubadour show here courtesy of L.A. Record. The coolest one of the night, however, came courtesy of Wes himself…pictured alongside the legendary A-trak, who was in attendance to check out on Mr. Late Bloomer himself!

Los Coast’s latest track, ‘Summer Samaritan’, got some SERIOUS love this week. The track was played by Matt Wilkinson on his Beats 1 show last Saturday, My Old Kentucky Blog gave the soulful summer jam a spin on their Sirius XMU show, while The Wild Honey Pie showed that the East Coast can get soulful too. Last week, we noted that the band would be playing at Austin City Limit Festival come September, but if you’re desperate to see them before then, they will also be playing at Houston’s Free Press Festival at the beginning of June!
