Welcome to another instalment of Fortified, where you can find out what we’ve been working on this week.  As tends to be the case this time of year, theres plent of SXSW-related news ahead of the festival in Austin next week.

Los Coast

Unless you’ve been frequenting the American South West’s music scene as of late, Los Coast would be Fortress’ mystery element, until now.  The Austin band will be making a number of appearances at SXSW this year, and although its a local event for them, it will be the first time the fully formed band present their music to the wider music world who will be flooding the city again this year.  Los Coast will be playing a whopping 7 showcases in total, including the 3TEN Austin City Limits Live show on Thursday, March 17th.  Click here for a full list.  To keep up with the band as they perform across Austin, be sure to follow them on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and check out their brand-spanking new website too.

Ian Moore

Ian is an Austin legend and SXSW main-stay.  He will be making 7 appearances at the festival this year, including three in a day, proving to the younger artists that theres no replacement for hard work and high energy.  Catch him at the Texas Music Magazine’s Annual Day Party and more – his full line up can be found here.

Normanton Street

Normanton Street are still plugging away at their crowdfunding campaign to take them to SXSW, where they hope to show the world that they have the perfect combination of vibe and talent that have been lacking in recent years.  Get involved here. And if you want to catch them anywhere in the UK, they’ve got a busy schedule coming up that you can see below.  They’ll be in London and Cardiff this week!

Wes Period

Wes Period will be making appearances at SXSW too  – although he’s keeping his showlist fashionably secret for now.  However, he has promised a first glimpse of Late Bloomer after the madness ends.  In the meantime, check out this great new track from Martika that Wes helped out on on the boards.
