Greetings. Welcome to our weekly round up of all things Fortress in a week that saw huge steps for two of our artists in particular.
Wes Period has had a massive week this past week following the release of the baby.daddi EP alongside Ye Ali and Tommy Genesis. The final project consists of five tracks which see Wes take the lead on production as well as helping out Ye and Tommy with vocal duties. The EP is simultaneously made for the summer and haunting in an incredible way. It was premiered by i_D magazine alongside a brief but insightful interview with the trio, and has also gained support from illroots and PAPER magazine to name just two. Also this week, Wes’ party anthem ‘Champagne Champion’ was spotted in Google Play’s Beach-bound Beats playlist, and Wes made an appearance in 40s & Shorties new look book.
Normanton Street’s tireless effort on the road is starting to make major headlines. This week, they sat down with The Independent‘s Roisin O’Connor to discuss life on tour, influences, and the upcoming Life’s Real EP that has been scheduled for July 15th. This week’s choice for “new music to listen to”, Ned, Nicholson, and Phoebe shared plenty of great details of what the plan has on the horizon. The band also shared the video for the EP’s latest single, Angelene, which was shot while the band was in Texas this past spring. Watch the video below, and keep an eye out for when Normanton Street are coming to you this summer- before you miss out on the chance to say “you saw them before they became big”!
Not much to add here, save to say that we are all very excited.
