It’s hard to think that we are already through the first month of 2016, but here we are.  The final Fortified instalment of January sees a lot of action from our acts, and an especially huge week for Normanton Street.

Normanton Street

Normanton Street are on a wave right now, and saw a lot of things culminate over the last few days, making it a week to remember for the band.  First off, this week saw the band play their biggest London gig yet, at Brixton’s famous Hootananny venue where they delivered a scintillating performance that had the crowd feeling the band’s energy from the get go.  On the back of that, they announced two further appearances – another chance to see them at Hootananny in March and a return to Croatia for this summer’s Soundwave festival alongside heavyweights like Pharoe Monch and Akala.

Also important: the final Installment of the band’s Documentary series was released this week, meaning you can now watch the full playlist courtesy of BOOM Productions!  The final episode provides a glimpse at the process behind the band’s latest single, Take Time.

Ian Moore

Resident has been the site of a lot of Fortress activity, quickly becoming our hub on the West Coast and one of the best places to see live music in the city.  This week it saw Ian Moore (who closes out a long string of dates this week back in Texas) and friends perform.

Andrew St James

This month, starting this Tuesday, another Fortress songwriter will be present at Resident:  Andrew St James will be opening up a weekly residency at Resident (see what we did there?) on the 2nd and will go on to perform every Tuesday with different shows and special guests curated by himself.  The first week, Sam Setzer and Hy Brasil join the bill.  Find more details here.

Meanwhile, catch some awesome pictures of Andrew’s recent appearance at TNK Festival couresy of Impose Magazine.
