A hearty welcome to Fortified, a weekly round up of all things Fortress.  Here’s what we’ve been up to this week.

The Orwells

Good news! The boys seem to be back recording again by the looks of things.  We just hope they make sure to edit out any sounds of Mario’s bowel movements….

Shitting out the hits.

Ian Moore

We’re a few days late to this one, but its fantastic enough to share in this week’s installment:  a great interview with Ian Moore courtesy of Rawckus Magazine.  Ian discusses his never-ending tours, playing catch up with technology in the modern age, and why Austin is so different from anywhere else.  Read the full story here.  Austin 360 returned the love by picking Ian as their ‘Friday music pick‘.

Normanton Street

After revealing the final installment to their documentary series last week (and getting some press attention for it here) the band announced a number of new shows in March.  The band will be in Reading, Norwich, London, and Cardiff in the first two weeks of March, and then Harrogate, Leeds, and London again in April.  They are also days away from revealing a new music video for latest single ‘Take Time’ and plan to be back in the studio recording this month. How do they do it?!

This week don’t miss:

  • Andrew St James live at Resident, LA in the second week of his month-long residency.
  • Tickets on sale for Bottlerock Festival in Napa Valley May 27-29th.  The Orwells play on the opening day.
  • Tickets for Normanton Street’s shows in March and April.  Full details can be found here.
