Greetings all, and welcome to another instalment of Fortified, our weekly round-up of all things Fortress.  This week, plenty of new music made the rounds from our talented artists.

Wes Period

NEW MUSIC ALERT.  Wes has been teasing fans with his upcoming project Late Bloomer for ages now, but we finally got a taste of some new music this week- and what a taste it was!  Wes released ‘Young Girl’, featuring fellow wild childs Tommy Genesis and Ye Ali.  The track is an empowering summer jam, and its been getting plenty of love all over the web.  It was featured over at The Fader and got some love from Hypetrak too, amongst many others.  If you haven’t been one of the 10k plays the track has already racked up in just a few days, make sure you listen below, and keep your eye out for new work from both Wes Period and a teased project from Wes, Ye, and Tommy’s supergroup, baby.daddi.

Mystery Skulls

Just the other week, we lost Prince, one of the world’s most loved and revered artists.  Since then, a host of stories have poured in from celebrities and fans about their often odd and amusing encounters with the mysterious man.  He was by all accounts a very private person, but incredibly, the only artist he followed on Soundcloud… was Mystery Skulls.  (Here’s some proof).

Call it the Prince effect, but Mystery Skulls’ latest track (and the accompanying master piece of a video) ‘Freaking Out’ has amassed well over 2 million views in the last week, while Forever also found its way back onto iTunes’ Electronic Charts top 10 this week.  In the wake of a tragedy, an unforgettable week for Luis.

Los Coast

Los Coast also shared some new music this week.  The track ‘Summer Samaritan’ is an energetic and soulful piece from the Austin crew that would suit any summer road trip playlist.  It was premiered over at My Old Kentucky Blog.  Check it out below.  They’ve also announced plenty of shows this month around the Austin,Texas area, starting this Thursday night.  The full list of shows can be found here.
