We’re now fully into the festive period, with all the good and bad that that brings.  While others may have been focused on end-of-year lists or Christmas number ones, we were right in the thick of things this week.

Normanton Street

Normanton Street have been all over the country recently in support of their new single Take Time, making waves where ever they’ve gone.  This week we should be getting a closer look at the band’s life on the road and all the behind-the-scenes work they do in the form of a 6 episode documentary from BOOM productions. According to Jon from BOOM, the band were sought out for their “unique sound style and hard working attitude,” with the documentary showing everything from promotion, recording, to the “ups and downs of the road”.  Be sure to keep on the look out for the episodes this week, and if you happen to be near Brighton this New Year’s Eve, you can celebrate with Normanton Street at The Prince Albert!  They also announced their first festival spot for the coming summer. Damn guys, let us catch our breath!

Wes Period

If you were lucky enough to have been present at new LA venue’s Resident’s opening party this weekend, count yourself lucky.  Not only did Wes play some unreleased tracks for the sold out crowd, but he put on one hell of a show, climbing all over the set and bar.  The much-hyped show lived up to its billing and set the bar very high for the rest of Resident’s shows!

Mystery Skulls

Much of the same could be said for Louis, who fully brought the house down following Wes at Resident, complete with an awesome light show.  He played some new material too.  In fact, new material just keeps flowing from him, with another remix being released this week.  This time, the Mystery Skulls flavour was added to a joint from Carmada called On Fire. Listen below.

Andrew St James

Andrew St James has been steadily realeasing new tracks online in recent weeks.  Sadly, there were no new ones this week, but he was spotted at Youtube HQ.  Tantalising…

This week, don’t miss:

  • The Wild Things at The Cavendish Arms, Friday December 18th.
  • Events all week at Resident
